Inner Vs. Outer Security
[Insecurity - VI]
The answer to insecurity is not fortification. We can’t manufacture security from the outside.
When it comes from outside, eventually it disappoints. It’s fashioned from a posture of defense or “siege mentality”. We write treatises, forge systems, and build institutions to reinforce that who we are and what we “stand” for is unshakable and permanent. It never is. Inevitably we feel attacked, persecuted, and paranoid—all threats to true security.
Even the most timeless pillar of truth must account for emergent realities with openness and compassion, not defensiveness and fear.
Security must come from within. The best I can name it is a “marriage" between inner-reliance and Ultimate Benevolence.
In this way, attending to insecurity requires
Self-awareness,
Introspection,
And discovery.
It also requires
Trust,
Soulfullness,
Grounding,
And faith.
I like that: Security is a marriage between inner-reliance and Ultimate Benevolence.
