Children or Flowers
[The Creative Call – V]
Creative ideas—the whole creative call, really—are like children. They are carried for some time, birthed, and then must be nurtured at a young age. As they grow, they require attention, stimulation, engagement, and sustained investment to be launched into the world. Eventually, with the proper care, they will take on a life of their own and contribute their creative gifts to the world.
Or, creative ideas are like flowers. In the proper environment and yet unseen by the world, they begin to germinate. Eventually, with care and consistent nourishment, they will bloom, offering beauty to the world. The strength of a flower is not found in it’s structural makeup but in what it contributes to the betterment of all that witness its radiance.
Creative ideas, like children and flowers, can easily get damaged, broken, and dejected. They have the potential to bless the world, but they must be protected and nourished . . . for now. Their season will come. Soon.
