Splinter in Your Hand
[Small on Purpose - III]
Your hand has built in armor. It’s called skin, and it improves with use (callouses). But it seems that there is no amount of armor that can fend off the smallest of splinters. And once the splinter penetrates, it controls the rest of the hand. A deep splinter is enough reason to avoid using that hand altogether until finding a needle and tweezers.
Have you examined a splinter after extraction? All that pain and inconvenience came from that microscopic piece of wood or glass or plastic.
The power of a properly sharpened skill is immense.
The power of a group of people with a pointed focus is unparalleled.
The power of a precise, carefully honed goal is too.
Small is a benefit so long as you function like a splinter.
