Eclipse Viewing & Listening

[Listening & Seeing - I]

Remember when Donald Trump, from the balcony of the White House, stared straight at the solar eclipse (August 2017)? After weeks of public warnings that the sun can cause irreversible damage to the cornea, everyone in the country knew the danger. He still looked. Not once, but twice.

In Trump’s case, ignorance is not bliss; it’s blind.

A close friend of mine wanted to watch but couldn’t locate any eclipse viewing glasses. They were sold out everywhere. He had an idea: find cheap UV protective glasses, buy a bunch, figure out a way to align all of them, and viola. So, he did. He bought eight pair of purple gas station glasses, taped them together, and threw his own viewing party.

The first step to problem solving is always listening.
Without it you’re blind.
Sometimes literally.
