A Spectator Sport

[Listening & Seeing - II]

Who’s not a fan of a good game? Especially one from up close.

The reason court-side seats are the most expensive: you pay for the thrill. The closer the action, the more thrilling the experience. If you can hear the squeak on the court and see the sweat drip of the players’ faces, you’ve probably spent a hefty sum to be there. It’s as if you’re in the action. Your adrenaline pumps when the score is tight, your hands sweat when the ball comes your direction, and you may even break a sweat in the final minutes.

But you’re still a spectator.

Being close to the action, even if it feels like you’re in it, has the same influence on the game as someone infinitely far away.

Get in the game!
It’s the only way to make a difference.
(And you’ll probably save money, in the end.)
