Last week's roundup: Imposter
Monday: Out there, where the trail is yet to be blazed, is where you are headed. You’re building the plane while you fly it, you’re piecing it together and trying to give it words as it comes to you. You are an imposter by virtue of being in front.
Tuesday: If you think you’re an imposter because you take us to a place you’ve never been, think again. J.K. Rawlings never visited Hogwarts. Yes, but she dreamed about it. For years. Same goes for M.L.K. Jr. He only dreamed about the America he took us to.
Wednesday: Every known, controlled, normative thing was once an unknown, abnormal, surreal idea. And the person who dared to imagine it was crazy. Was a threat. Was an imposter.
Thursday: When we pursue the work we know we are supposed to be doing it’s the result of our whole selves. We can do all the good work we want, but our true work, our deepest work, engages all of who we are.
Friday: We all, to some degree, are imposters to our True Self, insofar as we turn away from our call. People like us that are unwilling to continue in ways like this are (trying to) fully engage this “part” of who we are. We tend to our inner voice because it tells us the truth. We are soul-full.
Saturday: The difference between imposters that are dreaming, creating, and inspiring through their work and the imposters that are comfortable making a dollar off the lowest common denominator and pushing average stuff is this: What happens below the neck.
