Below the Neck
[Imposter - VI]
Not everyone is a futurist.
Not everyone is an inventor.
Not everyone is clairvoyant.
But everyone that looks inward—and really does the hard work of deeply listening—is positioned (and prepared) for the future. What we find inside is that we are all imposters, and that's okay. To deny this is to deny the truth that:
The future is unknown,
We have a role to play in creating it, and
We always dream of the way things ought to be before we arrive (and have it figured out).
The difference between imposters that are dreaming, creating, and inspiring through their work and the imposters that are comfortable making a dollar off the lowest common denominator and pushing average stuff is this: What happens below the neck.
Instigators are no different than maintainers.
Those inspiring others are no different than the status quo keepers.
Except the former dives down, below the neck, and searches for who they are, what they truly want, and the world their inner self craves.
