Not Up but Down

God is up.The boss is up.The power-players are up.The reputation of the the one I envy is up.#1 is up.The homes of the rich are up.Up, up, up.Up is always good and desirable.Up is where the power is. The answers are. The decisions are made.Not so fast.God came down.The effective boss has an office intentionally next to mine.The truly powerful, empower others.Envy and reputation don’t correlate to meaning and purpose.#1 changes all the time and is sometimes down.The most desirable real estate is in downtown.The lie is that up is better, elevation is superior.But the truth is that power is in the horizontal. Answers are collaborative. Influence is among people.And that’s a way of saying, dear friend, where you are will do. Nothing is inhibiting you from being influential, leading, and launching your thing.The world is horizontal. Take advantage of it.
