Attraction not Promotion

Social media can go a long way in promoting your message, your product, your thing. There are now more ways than ever to get your stuff out there.Your stuff will be seen. It might even get the attention of some. Maybe the attention of many. But social media and whatever other forms of promotion you use might not ever attract anyone. You can promote a thing, a concept, an idea, but people are attracted to the life that thing, concept, or idea represents. Those are related but different. Don’t confuse the two. If you’re trying to attract people through promotional means, their “used car salesperson” radar starts beeping on high alert. Why? Because people are attracted to what’s authentic, real, practiced, embodied. Enough with promises, tag lines, sales pitches, and any other promotional material. If what you really want is to attract people, learn the skills, and live the life that truly results in the stuff you’re putting out there.
