Weekly Roundup: The Creative Call Cont.
June 8 – June 12, 2020
Monday: We all have a limit on our intake of sounds, ideas, images, breaking news stories, and friends’ updates. No one can drink all the water that comes out of a firehose. Our own voice drowns.
Tuesday: Christians and Jews know something that we can all learn from: this time of year is a reminder that the Creator doesn’t hoard but gives, doesn’t withhold but pours out in excess.
Wednesday: Creativity reminds us that while a door may be shut, and while we may regret having slammed it, it’s never locked. The creative call is to return and explore what we missed and what we can learn.
Thursday: I don’t have to say everything, discover everything, or know everything. Sometimes the most creative thing I can do is merely point at space that needs filling.
Friday: The creative spirit, the one that is divinely given and the result of no work of your own, seeks to create margin for others. Perhaps the most creative thing anyone can do is assure the creative capacity of those around them.
