Giving (the Opportunity for) Creativity

[The Creative Call – XV]

Incorporating creativity into all that you do is a choice you make every morning.

Creativity in your eating habits.
Creativity in the way you present yourself.
Creativity in how you show up and fulfill the tasks at work.
Creativity in your conversations and friendship and social groups.
Your choice.

Having enough margin in your life—time, energy, lack of worry, security, and any other form margin takes—is a privilege. Some of it is your own making, some of it was given to you, and some of it is luck. But a lot of it builds in your favor (or not) over generations. Margin is not equally distributed.

Sometimes creativity isn’t a choice and the prospects of creating margin are slim to none.

The creative spirit, the one that is divinely given and the result of no work of your own, seeks to create margin for others. Perhaps the most creative thing anyone can do is assure the creative capacity of those around them.

Whose creativity is stunted due to a lack of margin? Addressing that is part of our creative call.
