A Deeper Well

[Work – V]

Ambition A strong desire to do something, requiring hard work and determination.

Competitive: Characterized by striving to win.

Zeal: Great energy or enthusiasm in pursuing a cause.

These are some of the most powerful forces in the world. They get you where you need to go. They get us all where we need to go because they are wells from which we draw on to get up in the morning and tackle the next big task.

They also give you an advantage, a chance to win, get promoted, build that thing, generate those numbers, produce that product, achieve that goal, impress that higher-up.

But they run out. They are not infinite.

Your best work doesn’t only draw on the spark you carry and the ambition you have. There must be something else.

You won’t find it at the office. Or on a motivational podcast.

Your best work must draw on a deeper well, one that flows indefinitely, infinitely. It must nourish your soul first. And it won’t run out.
