Sunday Reminder
Each Sunday I'll find an older post pertaining to the current week's theme, polish it up, and re-share it.
Here's today's "Sunday Reminder"
Put the Machete Away
[May 29th, 2019]
I love lazy days on the river, floating in a Walmart inner tube, laughing, splashing, getting sunburned.
If you ran like a wild man from the woods, waving a machete, with the intent of slashing my tube in half, you likely wouldn't get to me as quickly as I could simply float by.
If, however, you snuck up to my pickup, and punctured a few pinholes in my tube, I wouldn’t notice. That is, until I was half way down the river with no explanation for why I was taking on water. Would I make it? Definitely not.
All it takes are a few pinholes to bring the whole thing down.
Put your machete away.
Big, intimidating, violent: this is not how most of us effect change.
Sharpen your tools, hone your gifts, perfect your craft, polish your voice, and make a pinhole or two.
In time the whole thing will sink.
