Weekly Roundup: Behind the Pursuit
January 20 - January 25
Monday: Bigger will never satisfy the desire that actually requires smaller. Bigger will rarely meet our desires for relationship, for security, for self-worth. And if it does, it's pure chance.
Tuesday: But is unlimited what we want? What’s better: an occasional, fresh avocado or a refrigerator of unlimited amounts of pre-packaged guacamole? I’m not sure unlimited is what we’re after.
Wednesday: I’m not sure we want experiences as much as we want other experiences than the one right in front of us, the one we’re afraid of encountering head-on.
Thursday: We resists it because there’s a world of difference between being shown and being seen. We want to be seen. For who we really are. And that’s not choreographed. Or perfect.
Friday: We want to feel secure, like we’re doing what we can, creating what we can, participating in what we can to make our lives safer. What's behind that pursuit? What’s behind willingly participating in safety theater? Feeling unsafe, of course. Feeling insecure.
