The Future is not Future

There’s something about a new year that makes one thing eerily apparent: the future is not in the future anymore. For years, maybe longer, we’ve been looking to the future, to 2020.

What needs doing, changing, creating by 2020?
What needs reimagining, rethinking, replanning by 2020?

It’s not out there anymore.
It’s here.

There are no two options: today or wait.

There is only today.

The future is now, friends.

I’m not interested anymore in the conversation about what world we leave for the next generation. I’m not intrigued by questions about the way things will be, for better or worse, on some future date.

We’ve had those conversations.

Today is the day.

What do you bring to the table? What skills and insights and convictions do you have that we need? If you’re young and raw and full of passion, we need that. If you’re tired and have “seen it all", but have a small flame still at your center, we need that, too. And everyone in-between.

Remember: people like us that are unwilling to continue in 2020 with the way things are show up (now) and do the work (today) and deliver (on our convictions).

Today is the day.
