The Pain We Control
People like us are headed somewhere.
We’re after something.
We’re pursuing.
Dreaming.
Risking.
Creating.
But are we caring?
For ourselves?
The pains and wounds and struggles we keep under “control" are the pains and wounds and struggles that ultimately control us.
What we repress will rear its head and eventually demand our attention.
People like us that are unwilling to continue in ways like this will attend to ourselves. Honor our own wounds. Care for our own souls. Name our own struggles.
And this will be a mark of our leadership.
