Bottom Feeders

Catfish can get huge because a ton of “food” settles at the bottom of the pond. Granted, the food is considered waste by most fish, but it’s edible and suits the catfish's dietary needs.

There are business bottom feeders.

There are cultural bottom feeders, too.

There are even religious bottoms feeders.

Feeding on the worst inclinations of society, feeding on impulsive short-sighted tendencies, feeding on xenophobia and fabricated conflict, bottom feeders aren’t interested in health. They only care about getting big.

The answer is not at the bottom.

People like us name the waste, the unhealth, the short-sightedness.
It’s edible, but it’s not nourishing.
