Plainly Said (A Word About Loneliness)
We all have a desire to be known.
Our name. Our story. Our dreams. And our wounds.
We all have an inherent draw toward community.
Group support. Solidarity. Connection.
We all have a voice that can tell our story.
It connects us to our past and weaves us into the stories of those around us.
It’s the same voice that says occasionally, “That’s enough, time to listen.”
We all have a need to listen. To be present to others.
To be known. In community. With our story. Told in our voice.
And listening to others do the same. If any one of these is deficient, we feel lonely.
Sometimes the most profound truths need naming.
Plainly said. Simply put.
