Pointing out the Problems

If you’re a political pundit and you point out the problems, you’ll get attention. That’s important work.

If you’re a teacher and you dissect the descent of that institution, students and a few administrators will listen. That’s important work.

If you’re a pastor and you carefully analyze the weakness of your community, your denomination, or your tradition, you’ll be noticed. That’s important work.

If you play any role in any institution and you squeak, you’ll get the grease, eventually. That’s important work.

But pointing out the problems is merely the beginning. Since you know the problems, you're at an advantage to lead. Use your insights to create solutions. Use your understanding to discover where you can settle in, create value, lead by example, and contribute to a different future.

Don’t just be the squeaky wheel.
