Two Hour Wait

I heard the other day: “I was going to skydive but the line was two hours long, and I didn’t want to wait.”

The line will always be two hours, for anything that matters.
It will feel like three hours.
We tell ourselves it will be four.

It will likely be less than one hour because half the people waiting will step out and say, “I was going to skydive but the line was two hours long.”

The wait shouldn’t be the reason we don’t do what we know we ought.

It’s the thinning process. The testing ground. The crucible.

Also, the line never looks long from the front.
