Not the Enemy
[Fear - VI]
I’m going to take a deeper dive into fear this week. As an onramp, consider this:
I’ve come to realize that you can actually get rid of most fear (if fear is your enemy).
Stop doing things that might fail.
Stop being vulnerable.
Stop being principled.
Stop working to articulate your viewpoint.
Stop doing important work.
Stop speaking up.
Stop putting yourself out there.
Stop caring about your unique gift to the world.
Stop thinking critically.
Stop dreaming.
Wake up, scroll, consume, clock in, clock out, consume, scroll, sleep. There’s virtually no fear in that equation.
But fear is not the enemy.
Paralysis is.
Numbness is.
We must dance on the edge of what’s important.
