The Fox and the Wolf

[Short Allegories – I]

The fox first befriends the lamb. They bound through the meadow and play in the stream. Its a facade, of course. The end is near.

The wolf waits and waits in hiding, and then he pounces. It’s abrupt and violent.

The fox is usually more successful.

The fox and the wolf share the same goal. Their motives are identical: resting in the grass under the tree with full bellies. In general, their means are similar: kill the lamb. In particular, their tactics differ.

Many allies are merely self-interested tacticians.
