Weekly Roundup: More on Work

May 18 – May 22, 2020

Monday: Figures from history that had high ideals and deep convictions are not bad to imitate, but their’s a problem that ought to be named: If you copy their life, when will you live yours?

Tuesday: Doing other things doesn’t detract from your important job; it contributes to it by virtue of tightening up your schedule, offering motivation, and keeping things in perspective.

Wednesday: The short videos we see and the still shots we come across never tell the back story. They are edited and cropped to capture a moment in time. The back story would take much longer. There is always, always, always a back story!

Thursday: You, however, are not your resume. Nor are your gifts, your experience, your expertise, or your interests and passions. The question is How do you get you in front of the person that needs to meet you? Not a resume. Maybe a letter. Perhaps a direct call. A friend of a friend. A piece of art.

Friday: The best of the best are everywhere. They just don’t know it yet.
