Show
[Behind the Pursuit - IV]
Everyone wants a show.
Special effects.
Choreographed moves.
Perfect execution.
Until it’s expected of us. No one, it seems, wants to be “shown”.
Like a dog with good pedigree.
Like a new car.
Like a house for sale.
We resists it because there’s a world of difference between being shown and being seen. We want to be seen. For who we really are. And that’s not choreographed. Or perfect.
Maybe everyone doesn’t want a show, after all. Perhaps what’s behind it is the security that it’s not us. (If it’s you, then it’s at least not me.)
We don’t want to be “shown".
Don't expect it of others.
