Welcoming Breakthroughs

[Emmaus Lessons - IV]

We all want breakthroughs.

New insights. Higher levels of achievement. Personal records.

Your line of work doesn’t matter here. Inherent in all of us is a desire that “tomorrow" will have a breakthrough. Big or small, life changing or single-day altering. I’ve yet to meet someone that doesn’t conceive of a personal limit they would like to overcome.

Two things about breakthroughs:

    1. Something always “breaks".
    2. Something is always left behind.

We all hope for breakthroughs, but are we comfortable yet with stuff “breaking" and leaving behind what is familiar? Perhaps those are not the consequences of breakthroughs but the impetus, not the result but the means.
