Weekly Roundup: On Not Killing Creativity

Nov 25 - Nov 30, 2019

Monday: The challenge is not to increase creativity but to get out of it's way. To stop inhibiting it from flourishing. To stop whatever it is that makes us believe it's not there.

Tuesday: The difference is that the creative flow thrives on slowing down. It’s the result of diving into deeper waters, digging in deeper soil. The manic flow thrives in the fast lane, fulfilled by speed, which is a substitute for intelligibility and substance.

Wednesday: The same goes for creativity and creative solutions. They require specificity. The creative energies required for the search and the creative appetite for answers are fueled, not hampered, by precision.

Thursday: Go outside, friends. Be inspired. Find beauty. Open yourself to the future. Fresh air brings fresh life, fresh insights, and fresh ideas.

Friday: Give yourself permission to be an executive. Make wild decisions without consultation and without due process. Be spontaneous. Be in charge. And give your spirit the space to wonder, to dream, to play, to make mistakes, and to create.

Saturday: That’s why the risk takers are also the record breakers. Risk takers are the innovators. Risk takers are the artists. Risk takers build the future, and sometimes taking the helmet off allows creativity to thrive.
