Crop Rotation
[Farm Thoughts - IV]
The single best thing a farmer can do for the health of her crops is to set up a crop rotation. At minimum, the same crop should not be grown on the same ground for four years. Five is better. Six, even better. Seven or eight is best.
Diversity promotes health. Diversity promotes growth and resists disease.
Diversity is the way the natural world assures resilience.
Health.
Growth.
Resilience.
Without health, continual growth, and resilience, people like us that are unwilling to continue in ways like this, will cave to the criticism, be drained by the naysayers, or get derailed by distractions.
We need a diversity of inputs: information, friends, inspiration, news, entertainment, to name a few. It’s not only for your health and growth, but it’s for the health and growth of the thing you’re called to do.
