Left or Right
Public analysis regarding our current predicament, be it political failures, climate change, or geo-political tension is everywhere. More insights, more diagnoses, more prognostications than ever before.
One thing that is unanimously agreed upon, however, is “continuing as things have been” is not an option. We are at a fork in the road. All the pundits and prognosticators—the professionals, but also the guy in his basement with a personal website and a strong opinion—agree on that much.
At this point, not seeing the fork is not an option.
And here’s the thing about forks: You can either go left or right, this way or that. There is no straight ahead.
There is no more “business as usual”.
There is no more “the way we’ve always done it”.
There is no more “keep chugging along”.
There is only left or right.
Oh, and there is no more “pump the brakes and be patient”.
There is no more “we’ll wait and see” or “track the trends and we’ll revisit it".
There is no more “let’s let it unfold and then decide”.
We’re at the fork.
There’s only left or right.
