Your Vision

I’m less convinced now than I was 10 years ago that your business needs a vision document or a mission statement.

I’m more convinced now than ever that you, as an individual, need a vision document, a mission statement, a personal manifesto or credo.

One or all of those begins with this question: Who do I want to become?

Not How much do I want to make? or What amenities and conveniences do I desire?

Instead: Who do I want to be? Putting language on the type of inner-life you desire, the character you want to embody, the most mature and grounded and full you that you can imagine, is the real work of "vision-casting".

Your legacy, influence, and mark on the world are all secondary to and the result of the question Who do I want to be?.

The answer to that question is your vision.
