Creating Time

"I don’t have time” sometimes—not always, not even most the time, but sometimes—means, “I don’t have the time to listen.”For many people, the biggest hurdle is to muster up the courage to stop and listen. For five minutes.Stop saying you’re too busy or you don’t have time. You might be right! But you might also be avoiding the quiet voice inside waiting to be heard. The soul, the generative “being” that is beneath and within and all of you, is patient. Waiting. Waiting to be heard. It is from here—listening to your inner voice—that time is created. (And by that, of course, I mean your relationship to it changes, which makes it feel like there’s more.)Dear friends, listen to you this week. You’ll be amazed at the time that opens when you begin your day with, “I’m listening.”Not “Hurry, hurry, hurry.”Not “Go, go, go.”Not “Shoot, I’m gonna be late.”Not “I need to hurry; gotta get there.”Instead: “I’m listening.”Then you’ll be creating time.
