Vacation
By definition, and Southwest has capitalized on this, vacation is "getting way"—to vacate one’s normal routine, work schedule, mundane stressors. Here’s a question:Why don’t you create the kind of life from which you don’t have to vacate?Because "getting away” is not the only reason we vacation. The vacating part is not the only reason we go on vacation. We vacation for this reason too: the build-up. In other words, we vacation because the planning, the Google image searching, the dreaming, the mapping, even the packing are anticipatory. And we live lives without anticipation. Until we (plan a) vacation.People like us that are unwilling to continue like this help build anticipation for a different tomorrow. Because tomorrow isn’t a vacation, necessarily, but it is getting away from the way things are today.Paint a different picture. Plan it, dream it, map it, see it. Most importantly, anticipate it.
